Vin en Vacances

020As yet another season comes to a close, and the winter nights invite us to cosy up in front of the fire, it’s a wonderful chance to look back at the highlights of our year.

Vin en Vacances is a special business; it’s a ‘people’ business; it’s what we do, so here are some memories of us, our little team, making lots of people happy.

We introduced two new tours this year. The Gourmet Narbonne & Gruissan and the Canal du Midi Cruise & Vineyard Tour Both included the wonderful new appellation of La Clape. By combining two of the Languedoc’s finest attractions – the Canal du Midi, and the fabulous city of Narbonne, we regaled our customers not just with some of the most exciting wines of the region, but some of its most fabulous gastronomy too.

2015 looks like it’s going to be a wonderful vintage. Spring came early, and those endless days of cerulean blue sky and balmy evenings, seemed to last forever. Our tours included not only our usual day tours, but also some spectacular three and four day trips, taking in the breath-taking scenery, the wonderful food, outstanding wines, and fascinating history of this corner of France – and for the first time, beyond, into Spain with Wendy’s new business Taste-Tours.com

Grapes weren’t the only things growing in the Languedoc Roussillon this year ! The Vin en Vacances team, started byIMG_4486 Wendy back in 2009, now features a truly international crew… and it’s said that those who play together – stay together… and if there’s one thing we love to do, it’s eat, drink and have fun. We now number 5 wine guides and this year we were kept in order by Natalie our intrepid intern, seen here organising a photoshoot in the vineyard.

It hardly seems possible that it’s 11 months since we headed off to Millisime Bio, the organic wine trade show held in Montpellier each January where we search for interesting wine producers to take you to! Since then, holidaymakers from Moscow to Minnesota have journeyed with us through this region, and our season keeps getting more and more interesting, and those tourists with a passion for food and wine seem to be coming earlier – and staying later, in fact this year we’re touring in November for the first time.

Thank you to all of you, we love this region, and we know you do too – come back and see us in 2016.
