Wine Tours

For nearly fifteen years Vin en Vacances has been delighting people with our fabulous wine tours from Carcassonne and our wine holidays in Languedoc and other parts of France and Spain. Unlike other tour agencies we do not subcontract, we research and guide our own tours by drawing on our extensive experience, high level of customer service and vast wine knowledge supported by globally recognised wine qualifications. But what sets us apart from other wine tour companies is our skill at imparting knowledge in an entertaining way.

A wonderful experience. We had a terrific time touring the Corbière region with Vin en Vacances. We were picked up right at our villa - no driving required. And not only was our guide incredibly knowledgeable, she took us to wineries we'd never have found on our own, with tours from the winemaker himself. Wonderful lunch in a Plus Beaux Villages, as well. Highly recommend!

Two incredible tour days! We emailed Vin en Vacances Tours asking for two days of private wine tasting for our party of four (two couples). I am so glad we found them! Wendy (the owner as it turns out) answered back quickly - she was so responsive through the entire process. She arranged a day in the Carcassonne area, and then a custom day over the border in Spain with Carlos (also amazing!). It was so nice to leave the planning to them, ride in clean comfortable vans, included local lunches and it was obvious they were personally known to the wineries. The knowledge of the area, learning the history, amazing wineries! I would highly recommend letting Wendy and her team plan your day and just enjoy this beautiful area!

An amazing experience. We were guided by Carlos. We had a great conversation with him the whole way in which he really added color to the region that we were visiting, both historically and presently. We visited the high castles in the Rousillon region which were amazing to experience, as well as seeing the internals of a modern working winery and had lunch at a fantastic restaurant. Would very well recommend it. We were also able to arrange the most convenient pickup/drop off location that would work with our canal boat trip.

Wendy arranged a bespoke Minervois tour for our fairly wine knowledgeable party of four. Our guide Kate was excellent. We found her to be very knowledgeable, approachable, extremely customer focused and importantly lots of fun. We visited three interesting wineries which were differentiated by terroir and by their scale. Kate ensured the tastings were selected to match our interests. Unfortunately we were a few days too late to see the end of the harvest being brought in. However, as well as sampling finished wines from previous years one of the wineries took us to taste this year's production under fermentation - quite revelation to see, smell and taste five different wines mid-process from tanks!And just to make sure we coped with the volumes of tastings (we hate to spit!) there was a really nice lunch at a village restaurant ... with more wine.

We had a fabulous day with Rachel who looked after us for the day. The weather was not kind to us but it didn't spoil the day. We all learnt so much about the region and wine making in general. We also visited an olive cooperative which was fascinating and included a tasting of olives and oil. This was followed by an hour on the Canal du Midi with local wines, a lovely local lunch and a trip to Minerve. The day was rounded off with a tour to an amazing chateau estate vineyard with a unique growing methodology and another wine tasting. A fun filled day enjoyed by us all.

This was my third tour with Vin en Vacances over the past few years, and I can say without hesitation that this last tour was as interesting and enlightening as my first tour with them in 2015. Each time I have walked away with a better understanding and appreciation of Languedoc wines. If you are curious about the wines of this region I highly recommend Wendy Gedney and her team. You will learn about a variety of wines and also about the region. Their knowledge is imparted with grace and humour which makes a day spent with Vin en Vacances a real highlight of any vacation. Highly recommended!

We wanted to book a full day private tour which included a visit to Carcassonne. Tom organized the day for us. Carlos picked us up at 9am and we enjoyed a morning tour of Carcassonne, with a trip to Lagrasse for lunch and an afternoon tour of this picturesque village. Carlos was an excellent guide, combining his knowledge of the area’s history with good humour. Lunch in Lagrasse was a highlight of the week. Tom and Wendy were easy to work with and created a memorable day for us. I hope we can find an opportunity to work with Vin en Vacances during a future trip.

This is the second time we've worked with Wendy and the team and they are truly exceptional. Their knowledge of the regions history, landscape, wine and food is extensive. Their story telling is engaging and entertaining. They know the small wine makers that are taste makers for the region. We curated 3 different experience for our group of 20 with the team and each day was as good as the other. I highly recommend working with them and / or enjoying one of their pre-planned tours. You won't be sorry.
