If you dream of sitting in an olive grove enjoying the peace and tranquility of the South of France whilst sipping a chilled glass of rosé and tucking into a fabulous alfresco lunch then this is the tour for you.

This is your chance to spend the day at one of the best organic wineries and the Minervois and one very close to our hearts. This small independent vineyard is owned by Emmanuel and Leanne Puy who, farming organically, produce delicious red, white and rosé wines. Their land contains small parcels of vines nestled together with the Pyrenees in view on one side and the wild garrigue on the other. It is the perfect place to experience the peace and beauty of the countryside and meet a passionate and skilled wine maker and his English wife.

We start the day when Leanne collects you and takes you on a scenic drive through the countryside to reach her the ancient village where they live and their winery positioned alongside the Canal du Midi. You might call this producer a ‘garagiste’ as the winery is small and Emmanuel Puy produces only 15,000 bottles of his delicious wines each year. You will see where the wine is made and hear how he transforms grapes into wine.

From here Leanne will take you the 10 minute drive to the Minervois hills where their vineyards nestle behind the village. Here you will take a leisurely stroll through the vines and learn first-hand the history of the vineyard, some of which was planted by Emmanuel’s grandfather over 75 years ago. You will learn how Emmanuel cares for his vines, the vineyard cycle including the harvest and discover how he knows when the grapes are ripe enough to pick.

The walk will gradually lead you to the little cabin that sits beside the olive grove tucked next to the vines and here you will taste the wines produced on this land. We will also taste the olive oil made from the fruit of the trees whose shade you will be sit beneath to enjoy a delicious four course lunch made by our favourite cook using fresh seasonal produce and including a selection of French cheeses.

This is a day of leisure and pleasure and a way to learn about the life of a young wine maker; a true paysan who is blessed the savoir faire, the know-how and knowledge of the land  passed onto him by his father and his father before him.

This tour is ideal for small or large groups and also groups with children.
